Eastern Region Men's Shed Program

Sheds have been a traditional place for Australian men to take time out or work on projects. The Eastern Region Men's Shed provides a friendly and safe meeting place for older men, including those with memory loss, living in the eastern region of Adelaide.

The Men's Shed is funded by the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) under the auspices of the City of Burnside in partnership with the City of Campbelltown, Norwood Payneham & St Peters, St Matthews Church, Alzheimer's Australia, the Eastern Region Collaboration Project and other community groups.

The Men's Shed operates a number of groups each week. Participants are able to be involved in meaningful activities and participate in projects that can benefit themselves and the community. Examples of projects are the making of Bird and Possum boxes, repair and making of toys for the City of Burnside toy library, restoration of participants' furniture items and many more.

A small contribution per session is requested to help towards covering costs. Each group runs for a maximum of 3 hours, time spent at the shed is flexible and is tailored to meet individual requirements.
