Launch of app for historic Burnside Walk

Burnside Historic Society, the National Trust and the City of Burnside will launch a new self-guided digital tour of Burnside on Wednesday 10 May as part of the celebrations for the up-coming Australian Heritage Festival and SA History Festival.

The smartphone application (app) will provide a digital walking trail accompanied by original and contemporary photographs and information regarding many of the significant historic sites of Burnside.

The ‘Burnside Walks’ app will be available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play free of charge from May 10. A number of portable devices will be available at the launch ceremony for public use to demonstrate the new app.

A morning tea will be held at St David’s Church to begin the launch on Wednesday May 10 at 10.30 am.

Burnside Historic Society, the National Trust and the City of Burnside aspire to develop additional digital trails of Burnside and surrounding areas to build on the app.
