Community Grants

Does your community group or organisation increase community participation, strengthen community capacity or provide support or services for others?

The City of Burnside encourages local community groups and organisations through Council’s 2013/14 Community Grants Program. Each year the City of Burnside offers community grants to encourage, develop and support local programs, services, facilities and projects of a health, recreational, social and community development nature.

Grants are offered in two categories; community projects and community events.

City of Burnside Mayor, David Parkin, said of the scheme; “I am very proud of our Community Grants Program, it is important as it supports and strengthens initiatives that benefit the community and also help groups achieve their goals.”

Last year over 20 community groups and organisations were assisted by the City of Burnside to help with programs, projects and events.

The program’s purpose is to give a helping hand to groups within the area through donations.

A grant round is held in August of each year.  If funds are not expended at this time, additional funding may be available at other times.

Application forms will be available closer to the next round of grants.
