Open Air Venues

Two parks are available for hire for private events (excluding weddings) within the City of Burnside.  These parks are available for hire 7 days a week from 9 am - 5 pm.:
  • Tusmore Park Oval - Kennaway Street Tusmore
  • Kensington Gardens Reserve - corner of South Terrace and West Terrace, Kensington Gardens.
The City of Burnside currently has 35 Council owned and managed playgrounds of various sizes and with different amenities and facilities, including the Burnside Adventure Park (located in the Kensington Gardens Reserve) and Wombat Waterhole (located in Hazelwood Park).

Wedding ceremonies and photography can be held in a number of picturesque parks located in Burnside.

Sporting grounds in the City of Burnside are held under licence by key stakeholder clubs and all are co-located with public toilet and playground facilities. At times outside of licenced use, the reserves remain open to the public for use. Before undertaking group or planned activities in these areas please read the Community Land Management Plans and Bylaw 3. Note that no commercial activities or organised sport can take place in any reserve without prior written permission from the City of Burnside.   

There are 59 public tennis courts within the City of Burnside, many of which are available for community use. To ensure exclusive use and to reserve specific times, bookings are required and fees will apply. Refer to the Tennis Court Information Sheet, which outlines each court by location and includes information such as parking and other features.
