Australian Citizenship Ceremony

The City of Burnside Australia Day Celebration is held on 26 January each year at Hazelwood Park. The celebration includes a citizenship ceremony conducted by the Mayor, entertainment and a barbecue brunch.

Commencing at approximately 8.45 am, the morning will see the presentation of Australia Day Awards and a Citizenship Ceremony, followed by a barbeque brunch provided by the City of Burnside and Kiwanis Burnside in conjunction with the Burnside CFS.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the Burnside Symphony Orchestra and the Adelaide Harmony Choir. His Worship the Mayor will present awards on the day.

Applications are now open for the 2017 awards!

The City of Burnside is excited to call for nominations for Citizen of the Year Awards to be awarded on Australia Day in 2017. There are four categories to nominate in :

  • Community Citizen of the Year
  • Young Community Citizen of the Year
  • Community Volunteer of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year

Nominations close at 5pm on Monday 28th November 2016. Please return the completed form (attached on this webpage) before the closing time to City of Burnside, PO Box 9, Glenside, SA 5065, or email to facilitiesmail@burnside.sa.gov.au.
