Australia Day and Citizenship Ceremony
The City of Burnside Australia Day Celebration will be held on 26 January in Hazelwood Park which will include a citizenship ceremony, entertainment, brunch and announcement of the Australia Day Community Awards.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the Burnside Symphony Orchestra or Burnside Youth Concert Band, and the Adelaide Harmony Choir. His Worship the Mayor will present awards on the day.
The following award categories will be open for nominations:
- Citizen of the Year Award
- Young Citizen Award
- Community Event of the Year Award
- Community Volunteer of the Year*
*If you are nominating someone online for the category of Community Volunteer of the Year Award please ensure you select 'other' as the category and note the category in the first available text box.
Applications will open soon for the 2019 Australia Day Awards!
Nominations will open Monday 1 October 2018, and close Friday 16 Nov 2018. Applications will be accepted online via the Australia Day Council of SA website (https://www.citizenoftheyear.com.au/nominate/), or via forms available at major council locations including the Civic Centre, Community Centres, Pepper Street Arts Centre, George Bolton Swimming Centre and Glenunga Hub. Links will also be available on our social media pages. They will also be available at a range of community clubs and organisations.
