State Planning Reforms

New planning reforms will change the way development applications are lodged and assessed. Council is lobbying the State Government for better heritage protection and hopes the community can help by having a say on the new Code. In response to requests from our residents, Council has provided some example submission letters for each of our 6 Council Wards.

Glenunga Hub

Our Program, Events and Activities

A state-of-the-art community hub complete with outdoor plaza and playground. Glenunga Hub is located within the beautiful surroundings of Glenunga Reserve, 70 Conyngham Street Glenunga.

The Hub offers a large open-plan community space that can be partitioned into three separate areas to accommodate large and small groups. This venue is perfect for a children's birthday celebration, community program or meeting, corporate party or other large functions.

Throughout each week we host and offer many different educational and language courses, health and fitness classes, council coordinated programs and special interest clubs/groups.

The Glenunga Reserve is home to a number of sports clubs that utilise the ovals as well as The Hub building.

Venue Hire is also popular with residents and visiting groups as we offer a range of hire spaces. Our team also coordinates the bookings for the stunning Ballroom and Burnside Community Centre.

Fees listed are per hour including GST. Rates shown are for commercial bookings. Community groups may enquire about a discount.

*The availability of the Webb Room will vary depending on the sporting season, please contact Community Centre staff on 8366 4200 for any enquiries.

**High risk events include but are not limited to any events where alcohol will be served. Council reserves the right to refuse such bookings and/or place additional conditions on the hirer including but not limited to the prohibition of alcohol and the hire of security guards to monitor crowd behaviour.
