Community Development Officer

We are seeking applications to fill a temporary position within our Community Support and Wellbeing Team as Community Development Officer.

This role backfills Maternity Leave for a period of approximately 11 months from February 2019 to January 2020.

The Community Development Officer is responsible for community engagement and planning initiatives including delivery of a variety of community events, programs and projects with children, youth, families and seniors and community organisations.

This position will work collaboratively is responsible for developing effective relationships and networks with relevant community members, agencies, community groups, youth organisations and internal stakeholders.

The successful applicant will have experience performing community development initiatives with diverse communities. Additionally, you will possess high level project management skills and a demonstrated capacity to work effectively with a broad range of people and backgrounds. You will be required to demonstrate high level time management skills and prioritise efficiently. 

The position is offered as a full time position and is classified at Level 4 under the City of Burnside Administration Employees Enterprise Agreement 2017.  Flexible working hours are required for after hours functions.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Police and DCSI Clearance as part of their on-boarding process.
