Both roles report directly to a supportive and strategically focussed General Manager within the newly formed Urban and Community Division.
Group Manager Community Connections (ref no 16/17)
The Group Manager Community Connections will drive strategic outcomes for the City across a variety of functions including Community Support and Wellbeing, Community Centres and Events, the George Bolton Swimming Centre, the Burnside Library, Pepper Street Arts Centre, and a diverse range of community programs. To excel in this position, you will need to be an engaging leader who can implement a ‘whole of organisation’ approach to the portfolio, while building on the excellent community programs delivered by our highly experienced and valued Community Connections team. A fresh approach to strategic Community planning is encouraged and your ability to develop and motivate the team is as essential as proven budget, program, and stakeholder management skills.

In addition to the above criteria, we are seeking strategic and innovative thinkers, who are ready to bring their unique approach to complement our forward thinking and ‘one-team’ focussed Leadership team. You will be highly attuned to public perception and politically astute with a well-developed understanding of community expectations.
Your proven leadership experience will be supported by tertiary qualifications, further learning or extensive management experience at a senior level. These positions are offered as a 5-year contract and a competitive remuneration package will be awarded to the successful applicants.
