New planning reforms will change the way development applications are lodged and assessed. Council is lobbying the State Government for better heritage protection and hopes the community can help by having a say on the new Code. In response to requests from our residents, Council has provided some example submission letters for each of our 6 Council Wards.

Most of the Council area is leafy suburbia with no direct bushfire risk. However, on the eastern extremes of the Council area is the City of Burnside Bushfire Area.
Contact the Country Fire Service (CFS) to report a fire.
Current fire danger ratings and warnings, fire ban information, and changes to services on extreme or catastrophic fire days.
Burning is now on application outside the Fire Danger Season.
If you are concerned about bushfire hazards on your property or a property near you or Council land, the City of Burnside’s Fire Prevention Officer can provide advice.
