Anzac Day 2020

In light of COVID-19 restrictions impacting upon the ability for RSLs and other organizations to hold formal Anzac Day Services this Saturday 25 April the City of Burnside will be arranging for wreaths to be delivered on Saturday to our three memorials in line with usual protocols. This will be in lieu of official ceremonies where the Mayor and Elected Members traditionally lay a wreath in honour of the fallen and will enable the City to continue to respect and mark this important date and integral part in our nation’s history.

The Australian Flag will be flown at half-mast at the Civic Centre on Saturday 25 April from dawn until noon to commemorate Anzac Day.

On this day, it is important that we still take time to pause, reflect and remember those who have served and those who have given their lives for our country, and acknowledge their role in shaping our country, allowing us the freedom and security we enjoy today.

We can’t come together on this special day that unites Australians.  But we can remember those that gave their lives for us so from your front porch or driveway light a candle at dawn on Anzac Day.

Lest We Forget.
