Shoppers set to uncover garage sale treasures in the City of Burnside.

Everyone loves a bargain and this year’s Garage Sale Trail in the City of Burnside, which takes place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 October, is shaping up to be the biggest-ever sustainable shopping extravaganza with hundreds of items up for grabs at more than 35 garage sales across the area.

The national reuse and community initiative, now in its seventh year, is offering up a treasure trove of delightfully curious, collectable and colourful items for shoppers across the region and nation.

The City of Burnside is also hosting a sale as part of the national Garage Sale Trail. Bag a Bargain in Burnside will be held on Saturday 21 October from 8 am – 1 pm at Glenunga Hub. The kiosk will be open on the day, and there will be entertainment for the children.

The national event which will see an estimated 350,000 Australians get involved has a serious side too.

“Reusing or selling stuff you no longer want at a garage sale is a great form of sustainability and it’s a great way to meet the neighbours too,” explained CEO Paul Deb.

“The social nature of the day coupled with the remarkable items that are unleashed from the sheds, attics and garages across our region make Garage Sale Trail a pretty amazing collision of good times and good buys – all while promoting reuse.”
