As its contribution to the 1986 Jubilee 150 Celebrations the Burnside Historical Society conducted a project researching the origins and meanings of street names in the Burnside Council area.
Burnside Historical Society, the National Trust and the City of Burnside launched a new self-guided digital tour of Burnside in 2017. The smartphone app provides a digital walking trail accompanied by original and contemporary photographs and information regarding many of the significant historic sites of Burnside.
