Neighbourhood Chats

Looking to slow down, have a warm drink, and enjoy a meaningful chat with others in your neighbourhood? Whether you are new to the area or have lived here for years, you are invited to come along and share a cuppa, a conversation, and a few laughs at one of our friendly community catch-ups.

In the City of Burnside, we know that strong communities are built on simple moments of connection. That is why we host a range of welcoming and relaxed get-togethers across our community venues designed to bring people together, spark conversations, and create opportunities for friendships to grow.

Whether you are keen to talk about art, wellbeing, films, or just have a friendly chat, there's a seat waiting for you. With groups meeting monthly at various locations, there is always a place to connect over a hot cuppa and good company.

  • ARTea Chats: First Friday of the month, 1.30 pm - 3 pm at Pepper Street Arts Centre
  • Community Wellness Hub: Third Thursday of the month, 11 am - 1 pm at Glenunga Hub (includes chair exercises and light lunch)
  • Talkies and Tea: Last Wednesday of the month, 10.30 am at The Regal Theatre
  • Burnside Memory Cafe: Second Friday of the month 9.30 am - 11.30 am, Dulwich Community Centre
  • Book Clubs: follow a yearly program and meet monthly in the Burnside Library to discuss that month's book

Neighbours Every Day

Neighbours Every Day is Australia’s national campaign to celebrate and connect community with the aim to bring people together across their streets and neighbourhoods and help address loneliness across our communities. Each year we celebrate the spirit of Neighbours Every Day where everyone is welcome and you can enjoy music, and a community BBQ, all while getting to know people from your local neighbourhood.

Neighbour Day takes place annually on the last Sunday in March with the next taking place on Sunday 29 March 2026.
