Burnside Walks Smartphone App
Burnside Historical Society, the National Trust and the City of Burnside launched a new self-guided digital tour of Burnside in 2017.
The smartphone application (app) provides a digital walking trail accompanied by original and contemporary photographs and information regarding many of the significant historic sites of Burnside.
The ‘Burnside Walks’ app is now available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play, free of charge.
Burnside Historic Society, the National Trust and the City of Burnside aspire to develop additional digital trails of Burnside and surrounding areas to build on the app.

Walking Trail Brochures
In 2006/07 the City of Burnside celebrated the 150th anniversary of the proclamation of the District Council of Burnside. As part of these celebrations, it was decided to update and redesign the City's historic walking trail booklets. Written by members of the Burnside Historical Society in the 1980s and early 1990s, these maps featured the following areas:
Burnside Council staff, together with members of the Burnside Historical Society, reviewed and updated these documents in 2011. The Knightsbridge, Burnside and Eastwood/Parkside brochures were updated and redesigned in 2018.

If you are doing a Historic Walking Trail with children, encourage them to join in and discover the hidden histories of their neighbourhood with the Children's Historic House Hunt activity sheet.
