History Festival - Urban Histories: Suburbs of Burnside

MainImage.jpg

The leafy eastern suburbs of Adelaide have not always been that way.  Want to learn how they have evolved over time?  Come along to hear local historian, Polly Dundon, describe the changing face of some of the suburbs in Burnside.  Polly will explore the transformation of places like Dulwich, Rose Park and Toorak Gardens over the last 100 years.  Listen to her stories about the people, the buildings and the activities that have shaped the character of these areas and made them the places they are today.

This event is being partly funded by Burnside City Council.

The East Residents Association (ERA) is a volunteer group of residents who care about the changing nature of our suburbs. ERA works with Council and other stakeholders to enhance the heritage, amenity and environment of local neighbourhoods so they are better places to live, work and enjoy. While giving community a voice in decision-making processed, ERA is also interested in facilitating occasions that bring people together to share, socialise and strengthen their sense of belonging to a community.
