Doing A Melba is an exhibition of prints, paintings and drawings by beloved local artist Pip Comport and offers a visual exploration of his more than 40 years of artistic talent and contribution. In 2012, at the age of 90, Pip held what was intended to be his last exhibition, Finale. Touched by its success Pip found it in himself to produce more work in the mediums of drawing, painting and printmaking. This year, nearing 93 years of age, Pip has decided to ‘do a Melba’, the artist taking a leaf out of the book of famous opera singer Dame Nellie Melba to repeat his farewell exhibition.
