“I have always loved art as well as being drawn to the wonder of plants, so to combine the two over many years in my creative work has been a joy. During the seventies and eighties I was a successful member of the SA China Painters Association, followed by a number of years slipping by as I raised my children, worked full time and travelled the world with my husband. Creative time was precious and hard to come by in those days! In 2012 I returned actively to my creative work, joining the Friends of the Botanical Gardens Adelaide Art Group. I was totally hooked on coloured pencil from that point, exhibiting in metropolitan and regional galleries in South Australia as well as showing in both Melbourne and Sydney. I have been fortunate to have sold most of my exhibited works over the past six years. Learning for me is ongoing. I am always endeavouring to improve my skills and learn from others at workshops, and by encouraging fellow members. The most challenging and satisfying result in my arts practice is to achieve the colour pencil drawing of a plant that looks alive. I share that via my original works but also printed images on greeting cards which have proven to be popular.”
