How You Can Help

Many volunteers help directly with the management of the natural heritage of Burnside. In the hills face reserves, volunteers are organised by Trees for Life. Other volunteers help with urban sites.

Urban sites are relatively small in area and are generally areas with no remnant vegetation, or very degraded patches of native vegetation, which are being revegetated. In highly degraded and weed invaded areas like Burnside, this task requires the development of a high degree of plant knowledge and a lot of patience. Volunteers develop their knowledge and skills by working closely with staff and attending workshops run by Trees for Life.

If you would like to undertake environmental work as a volunteer for the City of Burnside, please contact The City of Burnside on (08) 8366 4200.
